Our History

Heritage Polytechnic is a private initiative of Dr. Emmanuel Ekott with support from NGOs, and companies operating within the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.

The polytechnic is located in a serene environment of over 30 hectares land mass in the friendly community of Ikot Udota Eket, some three kilometers from ExxonMobil Airstrip Eket. The institution is about a 10-minute drive from the heart of Eket town.

The polytechnic started as a Continuing Education Centre in 1994 and grew to a college in 2003. Heritage Polytechnic has been approved, licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) since 2010 for the award of National Diplomas and Higher National Diplomas.

Today, Heritage Polytechnic is the biggest private polytechnic in Nigeria, offering over 32 accredited programs.
