The naming of our institution of higher learning - “Heritage Polytechnic” was not haphazard rather it was a product of deep-seated and all-embracing thought on what legacy or inheritance the promoters of the institution intend to bequeath unto generations. In real life situations, it is common that people often prepare what to provide for and / or hand over to their descendants while alive or after death, through will. Some of the assets are mostly shared in discriminatory manner in tandem with some of the lopsided traditions of the affected people. These inheritances, which could be in the form of cultural or religious beliefs, buildings, art, occupations, ideas that are set aside by the society for imbibitions and preservations are best described as “Heritage.”
